How to draw a tree step by step in pencil - creating a sketch, master classes on drawing oak and pine, photo ideas
A child can be taught by parents to draw a tree correctly. Despite the apparent ease of such a drawing, more often than not trees turn out unrealistic, if you do not know how to create a sketch. Knowing how to realistically represent the species differences of different tree species allows you to draw beautiful landscapes. Being able to sketch realistic trees helps develop a child's observation skills, work with color reproduction, and teaches them to think abstractly.
Features of creating a sketch of a tree
At the beginning of the drawing lesson, it should be explained to the young artist how to draw trees step by step. Any drawing begins with the creation of a sketch, on which, with the help of geometric figures, a tree is depicted schematically: its trunk and crown.
In nature, trees differ from each other not only in the form of foliage, but also in the formation of the crown, the size of the trunk. All these features need to be reflected in the sketch. The photo shows the three stages of drawing trees of different species.
When a spruce is depicted, the crown in the sketch is created in the form of a triangle after the schematic image of the trunk as a vertical straight line. Then the branches are drawn inside with a simple pencil in the second stage. In the third stage, colored pencils or paints are used, with which the needles, branches and bark on the trunk are drawn.
The sketch of a deciduous tree is created on the same principle. Only the crown is schematically depicted by an oval, inside which the branches are then drawn in pencil.
Important! When at a family lesson parents will teach children to create a sketch of a tree drawing, it is necessary to remind the child that before working with colored pencils or paints, it is necessary to erase auxiliary lines with an eraser.
Lesson of drawing an oak tree with colored pencils
The work will require:
- a white drawing sheet;
- a simple hard pencil;
- a set of colored pencils;
- eraser.
At the beginning of the lesson, parents should draw the child's attention to the features of the oak tree:
- what kind of trunk it has;
- what kind of crown;
- what shape the leaves.
Tip! At a family lesson, parents can also draw a drawing of an oak tree themselves, showing step by step how to do the work of creating a sketch and drawing on its basis.
The oak has a lush crown and a powerful trunk. All of this will need to display in a sketch.
The drawing should start with the marking of the leaf. It is necessary to determine where the base of the image will be. To do this, you need to set the upper and lower points of the picture by connecting them with a straight line. Such a scheme will help to maintain symmetry in the process of drawing the oak tree.
The next step is to divide the vertical line into trunk, root and crown zone. To do this, two horizontal lines are drawn perpendicular to the straight axis with a simple pencil on the extreme points.
The upper part, where the leaves will be located, can be outlined with a horizontal oval, and on the lower part of the drawing begin to draw the trunk and roots with a simple pencil.
The second step is to draw arbitrary oval-shaped figures inside a large oval. To make it easier for a child to learn how to create a sketch, you can use a realistic image of an oak tree. Parents can show how to draw figures inside the big oval with broken lines, which will then become the crowns of an oak tree.
The next step is to draw the roots and the lower part of the trunk of the oak, which should be massive. At the bottom of the trunk should be wide, and at the top it begins to gradually narrow and disintegrate into branches.
Then you need to start sketching the branches and the trunk, which is visible in the crown of the tree. Step by step starting to work through the outer contour of the crown with strokes.
After that, you can move on to colored pencils, having previously erased unnecessary details inside the drawing, drawn with a simple pencil. Colored pencils to create strokes, which are used to formalize as the outer contour of the entire crown, and individual ovals within it. Start such a work should be done from the bottom. The outer contour should be carefully worked out, as it will be the most noticeable. Inside, the upper branches should be drawn, which should be thinner and look fragmentary through the foliage. Work on the strokes should be thorough. The realistic drawing of the oak depends on it.
The outline of the crown is drawn with green pencils, and the trunk, horses, and branches with a dark brown pencil. After that, you can paint the crown and trunk with suitable colors, not forgetting to create sun glare and shading on the crown and trunk.
How to draw a pine tree based on a sketch
To draw a pine, which belongs to the coniferous species of trees, however, to draw the needles in the drawing is not necessary. This is too time-consuming work. When a whole tree of conifers is drawn, the needles on its branches are transferred with a special technique of applying paint or creating a special pencil outline, which transmits the general appearance of the branches of conifers.
It is necessary to begin the drawing with the marking of the leaf, on the basis of which the sketch of the pine tree will be created:
- A vertical line is drawn;
- The limiting points of the drawing at the top and bottom are determined;
- With the help of two vertical lines, a sketch of the trunk is created, which should be wider at the bottom than at the top;
- Using several ovals or circles with a simple pencil at the top of the drawing, create a crown with a cluster of needles.
- Inside the circles are drawn thin branches, part of the trunk and areas of needles, which should look like clouds or clouds with irregular edges. This is how branches with pine needles are depicted, which will then simply be colored with pencil or paint.
- Inside the clouds you need to draw fragments of thin branches.
- The area with needles should be given a fluffy look with strokes, with which their outline is drawn. The drawing created with a simple pencil can be colored with colored pencils or watercolor paints, observing the correct lighting. For this purpose, lightened areas are painted in a lighter green tone, and shaded areas in a darker tone.
- The trunk and branches are painted in the same way with dark brown pencils or paints. When using paints, make small strokes, mixing green and yellow paint in different ratios.
Tip! To avoid the blurring of paint on paper the sheet needs to be moistened with water with a clean brush and then painted on wet paper.
When painting the pine tree with paints it is necessary to use brushes of different thickness for painting thin branches in the pine tree crown.When the drawing is completely painted over with paints it is necessary to let it dry so the colors won't smudge.
According to the same scheme on the basis of the created sketch draw and other types of trees.
