In order to draw a plate you will need:

A scrapbook sheet (both regular and drawing will do);
a soft pencil (ranging from B to 9B);
an eraser or blotter.

How to draw a saucer

This way is suitable for novice artists. Even a child can master it. You will be able to draw dishes using basic geometric shapes. In this case we will be drawing a saucer.

First draw an ellipse. This will be the outside of the plate. Despite the fact that the idea of the saucer perfectly round shape, from this perspective, it will look like an oval. This phenomenon is called perspective. It must be mastered, as it is often used in drawing.
Inside the ellipse draw exactly the same, only smaller. It should be offset slightly down from the center. This is the future bottom of the saucer.

How to draw a saucer (top view)
