How to draw a pencil elephant in a step-by-step drawing - three easy master classes for children
Elephants are kind and sedate animals. A child who has seen an elephant in a zoo or circus will certainly want to meet him, touch him, feed him. These huge creatures evoke sympathy and positive emotions in children and adults.
It's great to watch an informative film about elephants with children, find interesting pictures of elephants in their natural habitat, make a figurine out of claymation, or try to draw an elephant on paper. It's not hard to draw an elephant! You just need to make sure that the construction of the drawing takes place in stages.
Easy drawing with a simple pencil
You will need:
- paper
- lead pencil
- eraser
- possibly colored pencils (dark and light gray shades)
The elephant will be drawn standing right side up with his face turned in full-face.
Step 1: Head
Closer to the right side of the page we draw the elephant's head. It will look flattened to the bottom of a pear. Now, leaving room for a high, wide forehead, mark the round small eyes with pupils.
Next - the ears. They should be large - almost the size of the elephant's head itself. Each ear will be like a butterfly wing.
Step 2: Trunk.
It must be below the level of the eyes. The initial width of the trunk will be the same as the width of the distance between the two eyes of the elephant. Do not make the trunk too long. Let it bend upwards! Also remember that the trunk narrows towards the end.
It will be correct to draw several transverse short lines (5-6 pcs.) along the whole length of the trunk, and on the sides, at the level of the elephant's chin, depict a pair of short tusks.
Step 3: Body, legs, tail
Find the elephant's ear, which is located on your left. Starting in the middle of it to the left, draw a rounded line of the animal's body. Do not forget! The size of the body drawn elephant should be equal to its two heads.
Next, draw the missing four legs. They should be fairly massive and slightly extend to the bottom.
The elephant's tail is thin, not long. It ends with a small brush.
Now we can paint the resulting animal. The whole elephant will be dark gray, inside of the ears - light gray. And the tusks can be left unpainted. The lesson is finished. This was easy and fun, wasn't it?
Drawing a realistic elephant
Sketch .
- This is where you need a sketch that will turn into a believable picture of a good-natured giant. Draw a large lying oval, and to its left side draw a figure resembling an egg. This egg should rest half-lying on the first potato. This is the future body and head. At this stage you need to make sure that the proportions are correct. Now connect the two ovals with two lines from below and above - this is the neck of the future elephant.
- Draw a line from the top of the head down and slightly round it. It should end where you plan to end the legs of the animal. Now draw four guides powerful legs. In pairs, their outlines should resemble two incomplete triangles or two printed letters "L". Important: they must not meet at the top in an acute angle! Let's finish drawing of paws with fat pads. Make sure that their width was the same on all legs. We finish drawing feet up to the end.
- We mark the width of the trunk. If you draw a line from the bottom of the elephant's neck to the tip of the trunk - there should be the illusion that this line is one. Determine where the animal's mouth and finish drawing a small lower lip. The line outlines a short ponytail.
Sketch ready!
Small details. Add realism.
- Removing unnecessary lines with eraser. The ear should be similar to a leaf or butterfly wing. Dorisovyvayut appropriate curves and line the shell. Add a smile, a squinted eye and a short eyebrow line.
- On each leg of the elephant should be three toes. Let them be round or semicircular shape.
- Dorisovyvayut tail tapering to the bottom. All reliefs of the word smoothed and bring the figure to the kind you like.
The resultant picture can be coloured, using a light grey pencil as a basic, and a dark grey - to trace the shadows. The drawing of a real Indian elephant is ready! And it came out as good as any artist's.
Elephant Dumbo
Sketch of an elephant
Dumbo the elephant is a cartoon character from the Disney world. The fashion for this cartoon is long gone, but this character continues to be recognized by children and adults alike. Dumbo is a funny and cute little guy. Drawing him is a pleasure.
- You should start building an image of Dumbo with a sketch. Draw two adjacent circles. One should be slightly higher than the other. The circle, which is located below - will be slightly larger in size.
- Sketch the trunk and legs. The curved upward shorter line from the upper circle - this is the future trunk. Lines representing the feet of animals will be different sizes. Those lines that indicate the legs on the other side of the body will be shorter. At the same time, the one that is found in the front will be bent at the knee and lifted up. It should look like Dumbo is reaching up somewhere as well.
- Finish the trunk, which thickens to the base. Also finish drawing the legs. Do not forget about the pads on the end of the paws!
- Draw tail. It should not be long. Tail elephant slightly narrower towards the end. At the same time it is slightly raised.
Details of the pattern
The elephant is located half-side up. On the muzzle draw two semicircular eyes, which should be located near the base of the trunk. Smiling expression will give the outline of the cheeks and raised short eyebrows.
- Ears: Dumbo's ears are large. Each ear is almost as big as the elephant itself. The shape is also a bit unusual. Draw two curved lines from the elephant's head as if the ears were open in different directions. At the same time, if you connect these two lines (removing the head) you can get the wings of a seagull. The line of the left ear should go almost parallel to the elephant's body line. The line of the right ear should be shorter, because the ear itself is located further away from us. Doris lower parts of ears. They should have the shape of a rounded square. Left ear almost completely covers the body Dumbo.
- Detail the picture. Draw the pupils, the lower lip and a pair of rounded toes on the elephant's feet. Remove all unnecessary details with the eraser, bringing the drawing to a finished look. If you want, you can draw a cap and a leaf in the elephant's trunk. And also paint the whole body of Dumbo in light gray or blue, shading some parts by pressing harder on the pencil.
