How to draw a daisy in a pencil step by step - easy master classes for beginners
The daisy is a wildflower that everyone has seen at least once in their lives. Artists depict daisies as a beautiful bouquet in the hands of girls, as a symbol of endless summer. Drawing the inflorescence itself is a compulsory course in creative schools for children and a standard school art class.
Techniques for drawing daisies
As with most other images, there are quite a few techniques used to draw daisies. However, for beginning artists, it is preferable to use one of the following methods:
- Drawing with simple and colored pencils.
- Watercolors or gouache.
- Pastels.
Each of the presented ways does not require from the novice master special skills and abilities.
Materials for work
The beginning of any creative activity is the preparation of the workplace. Drawing any image takes quite a lot of time, which can lead to eye fatigue, straining the muscles of the back and arms. To avoid these unpleasant moments, the workplace should be organized correctly:
- The table should be comfortable with enough space to place tools.
- The natural source of light should be to the left of the master, and artificial lights should not irritate the eyes with too bright rays.
The main indicator for a chair or armchair is maximum relaxation of the back muscles. An orthopedic chair is a good example of this. Also for the drawing lesson you should prepare:
- Album or A4 sheets.
- Sets of pencils.
- An eraser.
- A ruler.
- Paints and brushes.
If necessary, you can use pastel crayons.
Master classes for drawing daisies
Amazing beautiful flowers - daisies - can be drawn in several variants:
- Single daisy. The main attention is paid to the image of petals, their shape, position in space.
- Bouquet of field daisies. Small bouquets without any framing - a romantic drawing.
- Bouquet of daisies in a vase on a table.
All given compositions allow developing spatial perception of objects, both at children, and at adults.
Drawing a single daisy
The following materials should be prepared for the drawing lesson:
- A sheet of paper or an album.
- A set of simple and colored pencils.
- An eraser.
- Photos and ready-made sketches of a variety of daisies.
The work is carried out according to the step-by-step instructions:
- On a sheet of paper, draw two ovals: one small is located in the center. The second oval is located around the first element and has a much larger diameter.
- The first oval is given the correct shape by removing unnecessary strokes from the contours. Inside the oval sketched in the form of a grid - the heart of the daisy.
- From the contour of the first element to the contour of the second draw petals. They have a slightly elongated shape, a little width, rounded edge.
- From the bottom row of petals downwards, direct the pencil to get the stem. On it you can depict a few leaves.
You can paint the daisy with both simple and colored pencils. For a realistic look, the petals closest to the viewer should have lighter coloring.
Bouquet of field daisies
Field daisies have a special feature - the inflorescences are smaller, the abundance of small leaves on the stem. Prepare the necessary materials:
- A sheet of paper or an album.
- Pencils.
- Eraser.
Draw a beautiful bouquet according to the instructions:
- In the top corner of the sheet of paper draw a small circle-core. Around the core we finish drawing the petals. In wildflowers their number exceeds 8-10 pieces.
- Next to the first inflorescence draw a second circle, repeat all these steps. For a large bouquet will need 7-9 inflorescences.
- To give a realistic look bouquet should be placed above and below the midline of the leaf.
- Stems are depicted in the form of thin lines running parallel to the bottom.
For beauty, the bouquet can be depicted with the original ribbon. For this purpose, a thin band with a relief pattern is drawn around the bunch of stems.
Daisies in a vase on a table
Bouquet of daisies in a vase is an example of a real composition, so the working area on the sheet of paper should be limited to a square. Then work according to the following instructions:
- Inside the working area, draw a bouquet of daisies according to the already known scheme (field or ordinary daisies). The stems of the daisies should have a small length, the rest of it will be hidden from the viewer's eyes by the walls of the vase.
- The next step is the image of the vase. The first thing is to draw a rectangle just below the inflorescences of daisies.
- Through the middle of the rectangle draw another vertical line, the length of which exceeds the length of the main facets by 1-2 cm.
- Connect the lines all three sides, giving our vase a side view.
- Complete the top contours of the vase.
- Pattern for the vase chooses the master on his own discretion.
If desired, the novice artist can continue the work and beyond the selected area - for example, to depict a table, window, some additional items of everyday life.
Drawing daisies is a truly creative process that, however, does not require any special skills from the novice artist. All you need is desire, persistence and constant drawing practice.
