How to draw a castle in pencil - easy step-by-step master classes

Every child prefers to listen to fairy tales and watch cartoons. All of their stories are different, of course, but most of the stories and cartoons are exhausted by the presence of magic and the presence of the castle.

In addition, adults prefer to watch many television series and movies that also have castles. Many strive to manage to portray a castle. We will talk about how to gradually depict a palace in a simple and attractive method.

Easy and quick method to draw a castle

We begin our lessons with the most ordinary image, which can be easily mastered not only by beginners, but also by children. We draw it with a black marker, but paint it with oil pastels of various shades.

How to do it:

  1. Lay the album horizontally. At the bottom of the sheet, let's draw a line to the side of the castle. To his left side draw a vertical line. Shift a little to the right and draw a line of similar length.
  2. From the right end of the side, draw a similar sketch. We finish the illustration with a connecting line between the dashes. The result is 2 rectangles stacked at the bottom.
  3. Draw a line horizontally just below the top of the illustration. In the middle, on the way from each other, we will depict 2 lines and cross them with a semicircle at the top. We get the gates on the wall of the castle.
  4. They are now divided into parts by vertical lines. On the wall we represent a row of half-squares of small volume. Now draw a triangular roof and flag from above to the right sketch of the tower. Complete the picture with a small window.
  5. Draw a thick letter S on the left side of the tower and complete the picture with a window with a rounded top. Above the wall depict a low tower. With rounded bottom. Let's picture a huge window, spread it with a cross. We extend the contour with a triangular roof, on which there is a flag. The picture of the castle is almost drawn.
  6. But, as almost all castles are located on a hill, it is covered by a huge pit. At the bottom of the base we depict the hill. We will also draw a huge semi-oval around the perimeter of the castle. We will make a castle on a mountain surrounded by water. At the bottom in front of the gate, we draw a road.
  7. We are going to improve the image. Let's start coloring. Draw the sky and water around the castle with blue chalk. Paint the second layer of water with blue chalk. Light brown paint the road. Cover the relief with green. Flags painted red, gates brown.
  8. Then paint the castle in light brown. The roofs of the towers are first covered with red chalk, and then we will apply a brown shade on top, which should be darkened with black chalk. We touch up the black shade in some places in the castle. We complete the image with small ticks and a fine green line.

We get an image like this. Now you remember how to depict a castle using the conventional method. Children and novice artists will be engaged in the design of such a castle.

Landscape with a castle

If you've had a good refresher on the first image, there's no need to pause the training process. This time we'll make the work a little more difficult. But you will learn how to draw a castle in pencil. Let's paint the finished picture in gouache.

For all this you will need:

  • a pencil;
  • an eraser;
  • a palette;
  • gouache;
  • brushes of different sizes;
  • a bowl of water

Let's work on the masterpiece:

  1. On the drawing sheet on the left and right, we create rectangular sketches of the towers. Draw a horizontal line below the top of the sketches. In the middle we draw a gate with a rounded end.
  2. We draw thin rectangles with side segments sloping toward the towers. At the top of this sketch we draw a large rectangle of appropriate length for the tower.
  3. On the line above the gate we will draw some squares. On top of the tower we will create the same squares. Their interior has a similar silhouette. Let's make a thin strip in the middle of the doors. We will draw horizontal lines on the doors.
  4. Above the left tower is a huge triangle. Draw a rectangle on it. We will complete this tower, where there is a pointed roof, with a similar outline and an image of a flag above.
  5. At the bottom right we draw the outline of the trees. We will outline a similar outline on the left. On the sides we will depict the hills, with the contours of the forest on them. Since the castle has already been drawn in pencil, we can begin to paint.
  6. We put paints, a palette and a container of water at our place. Draw blue gouache on brushes and paint the sky. It is not necessary to paint over the sketches with a pencil. Green we paint the forest on the hills. We paint the outlines of the Christmas trees.
  7. Then we'll dial up the light green paint and paint part of the reliefs. The bottom part of the reliefs and the leaf are painted green, but the color is darker. Wash out the brush.
  8. We are going to put yellow gouache on the brush. It will paint the underlined roofs of the towers. We are going to paint a couple of towers in beige, the part above the gate and the wall. Paint white stripes on the towers with red paint, and paint the gates with sand.
  9. Then paint the brown partitions of the towers with underlined roofs. With dark green paint we put the crown to the trees in the foreground of the image.
  10. We take a thin brush, paint brown gouache, paint the slate on the roof and make stripes between the towers. With the same shade and the same brush we will trace all the painted areas, that is, detailing the castle. On one of the towers we will depict 2 windows with rounded tops. In a similar way we will add another tower.
  11. Now we draw tree trunks and a large number of branches, located in a variety of directions. We wash a thin brush, take a thicker brush and choose a dark green shade. We use this color to create shadow areas under the trees in the foreground. With a light green color, highlight the light areas on top of the tree.

This is the landscape with the castle. Now you understand how to depict a castle in a more difficult way.
