Because you do not need to buy any expensive materials or tools in order to start creating products from beads. Nevertheless, a minimum set is still required.
Therefore it is necessary to purchase in advance:
- thin fishing line - its color depends on what kind of product the needlewoman plans to make. For example, for a heart with beads, a line of red color will do, which will not stand out strongly;
- Beads - this is the main material to work with in the future. On the right choice depends on the quality of the work;
- Scissors - if you wish, you can even replace them with pliers. But it is easier to work with scissors;
- clasp - instead of it it is acceptable to use an ordinary cord, but it looks less neat.
With this set of tools and materials the needlewoman can already start working.
How to choose the right beads?
Depending on what material beads are made of, they can be both natural and artificial. It is made from such materials:
- natural wood;
- plastic;
- glass;
- precious stones;
- Various minerals.
Beads differ in shape and size. Today you can find round, oval, square and even elongated beads. They can be both small and quite large. The choice in this case depends entirely on the purpose for which the beads are purchased.
If the needlewoman is planning to make a gift for a man, then to create it will be more suitable large wooden beads. But multicolored beads, made of glass or gemstones, will definitely like a girl who will receive a gift of a pendant or bracelet, woven from it.
What kind of thread to use?
It would seem that no one should have a problem with the choice of thread. After all, you could just go to a specialty store and buy the first one you could find. But in fact, it's not so easy. It is important to remember that two kinds of thread are usually used for beadwork: wool yarn and lace made of kapron.
Lace weaving, which many have even managed to forget, was actually previously more popular. Today it is used only in cases where it is necessary to create products stylized as antique. In other cases, the use of woolen yarn is justified.
It is also possible to replace it with ordinary wire or polymers. Polymers are suitable for work with transparent or white beads. But wire is ideal for making intricate objects which must have a dense structure. For example, beaded trees.
A description of the beading process
It should be noted at once that there are several weaving techniques that are suitable for creating heart-shaped items. But there are two main methods that remain very popular today. Because their main feature is simplicity. Mastering them will not be difficult.
Brick heart weaving technique
This technology is divided into several stages for convenience. And it is extremely important to follow them without breaking the sequence. The scheme of the heart from beads itself is quite simple:
- A piece of fishing line is inserted into the needle and threaded on it 3 beads. Return to its beginning and pass the line through 2 beads, tightening the thread;
- String 2 more beads, threading the needle under the line so that it passes between 2 beads in the previously formed triangle. One bead is left free, and through it should be threaded fishing line. Remove the blank and do the same with the next bead;
- weave a row using the same technique as described above;
- weave a new row with 5 beads, making the first "brick" with 2 of them. Weave the last "bricks" into one loop;
- Now continue to work with 6 beads, and then proceed to weave the upper part of the product. To do this, put 5 beads on the fishing line, skipping the loop, enter the needle into the 3rd bead. Tighten the fishing line and bring it to the top;
- thread 5 more beads, fix them at the end of the row and fill in all the holes that have been formed;
- tighten the threads and fasten the piece.
At this point the weaving is completed and you can proceed to make a clasp, if necessary.
The "triangle" technique
The method got its name from the fact that for weaving use loops of three beads. The finished product in this case looks volumetric. And to achieve such a result, it is necessary:
- Put 3 beads on the thread, forming a closed ring;
- add 2 beads at the top and 1 at the bottom;
- make a loop and repeat these steps until the piece is the right size;
- add 1 bead at the top and 2 at the bottom;
- having unfolded the base, weave one more row, having previously reduced the number of loops by 1.
Note that the number of triangles must be an even number, so that the weaving fully complies with the scheme.
Embellishments variations
Having mastered the basic technique of weaving hearts from beads for beginners, you can think about presenting a gift made by your own hands to your loved ones. Products in the shape of a heart, of course, would be a great themed gift. Therefore, most often they are presented as a gift for Valentine's Day.
Pendants
To make the pendant look more accurate, it is better to use just a kapron string or separately purchase a thin chain. If gemstones are used in the weaving process, such a chain will look more presentable. But even a product made of simple beads looks beautiful and unusual.
Keychain for keys
This stylish jewelry for a keychain is sure to please anyone who gets it as a gift. You can use beads made of wood or plastic to create it. But glass beads are not suitable for this purpose because of their fragility.
Stripes and cufflinks
A fashionable and beautiful accessory is the best gift, because it will help to decorate even a boring image. However, you should take care beforehand that the product is well fixed. Otherwise, there is a high probability that it can get lost.
Earrings
Any girl will be able to appreciate the beauty of earrings, made by hand. You just need to choose the right clasp. After all, it should be not only reliable, but also comfortable. When wearing these earrings should not cause discomfort.
Topiary of beads
For several years, such décor as a topiary remains popular. But you do not have to buy it at all. You can make it yourself. Very unusual looks topiary-heart, which was made of beads.
It can become a decoration of any interior. And it is not necessary to use red beads to create it.
You can make a small or large topiary, decorate it additionally with satin ribbons or elements cut out of thick paper.
Subtleties of volumetric beading
The above described techniques involve the creation of simple two-dimensional patterns. But every needlewoman dreams of mastering the way of weaving, which will allow creating a three-dimensional heart from beads.
This technology is not complicated, but imposes certain requirements to the materials used:
- only wire with a diameter of at least 0.3 mm should be used as a frame;
- the wire can be made of any metal. The exception is silver thread. It cannot be used;
- Beads must be large and have an oval or spherical shape.
Pliers will also be needed in the process. Use them to bend the wire. And you need to do this at an acute angle.
Optimal size products
To summarize, it is impossible not to mention the size that products may have. Small hearts are suitable for creating earrings and other jewelry.
But more bulky figures are needed to create, for example, a topiary. After all, working with small parts will be uncomfortable. And that is why it is so important to decide in advance what size the finished product will have.
